Thomson Habitats are a team of experienced professionals who design, create and restore habitats for wildlife. This includes creating hibernacula for reptiles, ponds for great crested newts, developing wetland areas, re-planting trees following civil engineering work, and dealing with invasive species, such as Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed.
Thomson Habitats are currently working on a water vole survey, which involves the creation
of water vole latrines, the purpose of which is to monitor the amount of water vole droppings
in order to suggest the level of water vole activity in the area. A water vole latrine is fundamentally
a raft which has been constructed using bespoke floats which after talking to Lynvale about what we needed, have been expertly manufactured by Lynvale Limited, which are perfect for achieving correct buoyancy.
